Crystalline Fructose, “The Low Glycemic Choice”

 

Crystalline Fructose offers unique benefits that make if more advantageous to use compared to high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and other sweeteners.

Glycemic Index refers to the body’s glycemic response to both the type and amount of carbohydrate (sweetener) consumed. High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is considered a high glycemic sweetener and this sweetener will cause a spike in blood glucose levels (see chart). Fructose, on the other hand, is considered a low glycemic sweetener (20 vs 62) and this aids in the development of foods with low glycemic loads ideal for sugar controlled foods.
